Building Construction Management Technology, AS

The Purdue University North Central construction engineering and management technology program will prepare graduates with the technical skills necessary to enter careers in the construction field, operation and/or maintenance of built environment and global infrastructure.

Mission

Our mission is to provide a quality construction education and develop leaders for the construction industry to serve the community needs in northwestern Indiana by:

  • Providing a quality education within the engineering and construction management area.
  • Contributing to the advancement of technology, engineering, and education through scholarly work, publication or active participation in professional societies, and
  • Serving as a technical resource for the surrounding communities of northwestern Indiana.

Program Education Objectives for the AS-BCMT

Graduates of the Associate of Science Degree in Building Construction Management Technology program will satisfy the following program educational objectives:

  1. Demonstrate technical skills in construction and related fields.
  2. Through their education, graduates are able to collect, analyze, and evaluate information in order to solve construction and engineering problems.
  3. Graduates will use multiple forms of communication in order to work in multidisciplinary teams and appreciate the value of multiple perspectives in construction and engineering problem solving.
  4. Graduates will be able to continue their formal education at the BS and/or professional development level to advance professionally through lifelong opportunities.

Our AS and BS degrees are structured on a 2+2 pattern.  Students earn the Associates Degree in BCMT after their freshman and sophomore years of study are completed, and then after completing their junior and senior years, they are awarded a Bachelor's Degree in CEMT.
